Location and area
Tanintharyi Region covers a total area of ​​16,736 square miles. It is located in the Tanintharyi coastal area of ​​southern Myanmar. It is also a sparsely populated area. Andaman Sea Thailand It is surrounded by Kayin and Mon states. 9 ° 30’N to 15 ° 5’N; It is located between 97 ° 40’E and 99 ° 40’E.

Topography
Tanintharyi Region is hilly, mountainous, The coastal plain is narrow as it is rugged with the Andaman Sea to the west and the Tanintharyi Mountains to the east. The Tanintharyi Mountains run parallel to the coast. It is located on the Dawei River and the Tanintharyi River as a water sheet. Tanintharyi Region has 840 islands offshore, with Indawgyi Inn in Tanintharyi Township famous for its many small waterfalls and hot springs.

The weather
It is near the sea. Rainy and humid weather. The temperature is also high because it is close to the equator. The average temperature is between 83 and 78 degrees Fahrenheit. It rains for most of the year, ranging from 170 to 210 inches.

There are three districts in Tanintharyi Region.
Dawei District
Myeik District
Kawthaung District

Population
According to the 2014 census, Tanintharyi Region has a population of 1.4 million. The female population in the region is slightly higher than the tiger population. The population density was 32.5 people per square kilometer. In Tanintharyi Division, 76 per 100 people live in rural areas.

Literature
Dawei people Myeik people The Salung are an indigenous people living in Tanintharyi Division. The religion of these peoples is the main language. As for literature, Mawkin literature was developed and curriculum was developed and taught. The Dawei Literature and Culture Association is working to develop a syllabus for Dawei literature.
