Thanintharyi is a region surrounded by beautiful mountains, sea and rivers. It is located in southern-most part of Myanmar and neighbor with Thailand.
As a border gate, there are three border gates as follow:
(1) Htee Khee Border Gate, Myittar Township, Dawei District
(2) Maw Daung Border Gate, Maw Daung Township, Myeik District
(3) Kawthaung-Ranong Border Gate, Kawthaung Township, Kawthaung District
Htee Khee and Maw Daung gates can be travelled by cars. Those two gates are mainly used for trading goods. Htee Khee gate is considered as a project to be ASEAN pole main road but it’s still in progress. In rainy season, the road was being destroyed and become rough because of heavy rain. It takes only three hour ride from Htee Khee to Bangkok.
Htee Khee gate and Maw Daung gate are gifted by nature like peaceful scenery but there are still need to develop because of incomplete road project.
Ranong border gate located in Kawthaung region is a region where we can travelled by boats and ships. It is also one of the useful border gates for migrant workers of Myanmar.
This is about “Three Border Gates” of Tanintharyi region. The article is not presented with political and commercial point of view. It is just a mention to promote travel and tour of Tanintharyi region.
